Collins Walker is a British manufacturer and a worldwide leader in the electric boiler market, supplying bespoke electric steam and hot water solutions since 1972. 4D Digital designed and built a new website to match that standing, and gave the in-house team full control of it.

The challenge

Collins Walker have led the electric boiler market since 1972, operating in more than fifty countries and trusted by blue-chip names across pharmaceuticals, food processing, healthcare and energy. They needed a website that did justice to that reputation.

With a broad and highly technical product range – from steam and hot water boilers to water treatment packages and packaged plant rooms – the site had to present complex products clearly, and give the engineers and specifiers who buy them quick access to the technical documentation they depend on.

The internal team also wanted to own their content: to publish news and case studies, manage downloads, and update pages themselves, without needing a developer each time.

The approach

4D Digital designed and built a new WordPress website from the ground up, with custom design and development throughout. The structure is organised around Collins Walker’s products, applications and services, so visitors can find the right solution quickly.

Technical documents – boiler specification sheets and brochures – are easy to locate and download, supporting the specifiers and engineers who rely on them.

We integrated HubSpot so website enquiries flow straight into Collins Walker’s sales and marketing, and developed a straightforward admin that lets the in-house team manage blogs, case studies, downloads and page content for themselves.

Initial SEO foundations were put in place at launch, and 4D provides ongoing hosting and maintenance to keep the site secure and performing.

The results

Collins Walker now have a modern, credible website that reflects their standing as a global market leader and makes a large, technical product range easy to navigate.

Specifiers and engineers can find and download the documentation they need in moments, while enquiries connect directly into HubSpot.

The in-house team can keep the site current independently, and with ongoing hosting and maintenance from 4D, they have a secure, well-supported platform with the foundations in place to grow.
